Uploading Your Addon

OpenLP Addons can be one of two items: themes, or plugins.

Themes

A theme is a collection of a background, fonts, styles, and other settings for how songs and other textual items are displayed in OpenLP.

In order to upload a theme you've made in OpenLP to this site, simply export the theme from OpenLP, and upload the theme file.

The easiest way to get a thumbnail for your theme is to use the thumbnail generated by OpenLP. From within OpenLP, go to the "Tools" menu, click on "Open Data Folder". From the OpenLP data folder, go into the "themes" directory, and then into the "thumbnails" directory. Your thumbnail will be in there.

Plugins

A plugin is a feature or set of features in OpenLP. Many parts of OpenLP itself are plugins, including Songs, Bibles and Presentations.

In order to upload a plugin you've made for OpenLP, you'll need to create a plugin zip file and upload the file. You will also need to decide on a license for your plugin, and choose a suitable thumbnail picture that describes your plugin best.

Approval

Once a plugin or a theme is uploaded, it needs to be reviewed and approved by the OpenLP team. We just want to make sure that we don't have any addons that contravene copyright, or that contain malicious code.

One approved, your addon is immediately available on the website.
